Das Goldene Zeitalter

DAS GOLDENE ZEITALTER Die Serie entstand als Nebenprodukt bei der Herstellung der Monument Works Serie. Weil die Skulpturen mit Kaliumsilikat bespayt werden mussten platzierte der Künstler unter ihnen Seiten aus einem grossformatigen Buch zum Goldenen Zeitalter der Niederländischen Malerei. Obwohl der Prozess geplant und gesteuert wurde, spielte der Zufall eine grosse Rolle. 115 Blätter im Format 32.8 x 22.3 cm waren das Resultat.

THE GOLDEN AGE The series was created as a sideline while producing the Monument Works series. Because the sculptures needed to be sprayed with pigmented potassium silicates, reproductions from two large-format books on 17th-century Dutch painting were placed under the sculptures to minimize deposits on the worktable. Using the sheets several times the process enabled the pared-down perspective of the original reproductions. Although the process was planned and controlled, it was equally determined by chance. Individual sheets were interesting on both sides, resulting in 115 images on 102 sheets in the size of 32.8 x 22.3
